Awareness helps you move into healthier choices effortlessly! | During the Spring Cleanse we will focus on the sense of EFFORTLESSNESS. Understanding that body, mind and the soul/spirit or inner self are inextricably united. Philosophy and medicine has sought to separate these parts of ourselves. Delegating the body to medicine, the mind to psychology, the soul to religion without the understanding that they are the inseparable you! Spring is a time of renewal and rebirth. Allow yourself to find that space of rebirthing body, mind and soul during this week! I encourage you to use this time to reconnect with yourself. |

We are focused not only on the body, but also on unity of self,
the mind and the soul and spirit or inner self.
Pay attention to shifts in energy and feelings.
As we detox we may find negative feelings
and things we found stressful may have lightened!
It is often said, "People don't change".
NONSENSE!
People are changing daily, some are moving toward a lighter brighter self
and some are moving further away from lightness,
but believe me when I say,
people do change.
Zero Point Process * & the Chi Nei Tsang

Keep in mind, you eliminate more toxins through the surface of the skin that you do liver and kidneys combine. Stimulate the skin with dry brushing, salt or sugar scrubs, salt and/or clay baths with hydrogen peroxide or apple cider vinegar added, sauna or steam room if available to you.
Do not use Epsom Salts if you are sensitive or allergic to sulfites
Success Tip: Fresh Juice and Smoothies Quick and easy smoothies are a great way to have something on hand during the first four days of eating lighter. You can make them ahead the night before and take in the AM. Or you can make a bunch of them and freeze, taking out what you want for each day the evening before to unthaw! MAKE IT EASY - GET CREATIVE! |
The hardest part for me is breakfast, I am so used to eating eggs that I am creatively challenged to find other things to eat. Yesterday, day 1, was easy, went to hot yoga last night and slept great.
Today I had an apple with peanut butter for breakfast and will have a salad for lunch and lots of vegi juice.
Yes, for someone whose used to heavier breakfast this is a challenge. I recommend focus on liquids in the AM to improve hydration. I start the AM's out with 1/2 cup or so of green tea, followed by the 1.5 ounces of wheatgrass in what I like to call a wheatgrass spritzer!
This is 1.5 ounces of wheatgrass, the juice of 1 lemon, or grapefruit, sparkling mineral water to top it off and a bit of ice if you like. That will fill you up and pave the way for a smoothie which you can make in the AM and take to work with you in a hydro flask or jar if you have access to a refrigerator. Drink the smoothie around 10:00 AM and have a midday salad around noon.
Keep some raw nuts with you as a snack during the four days of eating. The spirulina/chlorella will help prevent drops in blood sugar!
I did my juicing Tues - Thu. (started earlier with the detox program) The time I wanted to eat something the most was at lunch time when I always eat a salad, and I really missed that. The juicing just went on all day long, somewhat boring, but the juices were tasty and that kept me interested in finishing. Did well. 3 pounds down on the scale since the start. Hope to somehow keep that up by making some adjustments learned this week.
Good job Christa!
The nice thing about fasting is you're a freed from the daily preparation of food which gives you more time for reflection. I recommend it's a great time for walks or hikes. Possibly spending sometime with a creative project or tackling the clutter zone you've been meaning to get to!
The fast will bring on an emotional/spiritual cleansing as well as detoxifying the body! Today is my first day all juice, I'm ready and will report in at the end of the day!
Detoxers, remember you are going to continue taking the hydrogen peroxide and the spirulina and chlorella through the fasting period!
The more times i do this the easier is becomes. Yesterday was the first day of my juice fast. I wanted to eat last night but was not actually hungry, I think it was just habit.
Great observation, David!
Yes, it is a habit but the interesting thing is eventually when fasting for more than three days, hunger stops altogether.
The energy needed to process food is now able to be redirected to "house cleaning", hence detox symptoms. But, when the symptoms subside you are left with a clear steady energy that many have never experienced. After three days you are auto-metabolizing or in a keto-genic state of ketosis. In this state the body begins to consume all extraneous cellular debris in order to maintain a constant blood sugar level. No muscle tissue is lost on a short fast from 1 day to two weeks as a rule.
The draw to want to eat during the first three days is strong! Recognizing it's a habit will help you when returning to eating. I recommend everyone focus post fast on eating only when hungry. This will finely tune your intuition and sharpen your ability to tune into what your body needs versus what you might "crave"!
On Day 4, after an emotional week, I noticed my need for more nourishing foods, rather than salads to prepare for my juicing. As my old habit of reaching for sugar or treats was already gone, I found myself wanting brown rice with salmon and spinach drenched in lemon… and then baked cauliflower… followed with rice cakes with almond butter and dates. Ha! I’m glad I went for it. It definitely satisfied my emotional hunger. I went I bed earlier and slept well. I’ll circle back to salads and prep for juicing next week when I feel more emotionally ready. Thanks for the encouragement to tune in and listen to my body. And for all the great info on the spring cleanse.
Luna,
This is a great observation. The ultimate goal of the Seasonal Cleanses is to support your being able to connect with yourself more deeply. To come to move with what you are feeling and understand how to nourish the body when you feel challenged.
The awareness that I now need to ground with food is wisdom or the body speaking to you. When you are ready to go all the way...you will feel that in your body.
I recommend when decided to add some more grounding foods we start with something like a baked potage, rice cakes and broth with a little olive oil or even butter. But, you have the right idea and it's all about evolving to a better understanding of what you in in the larger picture of your life. With the end goal of enjoying your life MORE!!!
Blessing, V
