I do my juicing on the weekends when I have set aside time for it. I shop for veggies and fruits a day or two prior and keep them in an ice chest until I'm ready to juice. I will juice up to 10 or 12, 24 ounce jars of juice at one time. This allows me to have fresh juice whenever I want it without any fuss for a fraction of store bought juices. Along with a couple of pints of lemon juice and ginger juice, which I store in small ziplocks and freeze them also. I unthaw as needed for adding to beverage blends or smoothies. This makes juicing less overwhelming than trying to juice daily. I've been juicing since I was a newly wed, a mother of two kids 18 months apart in age! As a single working mom, and now as a Wellness Consultant and Educator with a growing practice and online courses. This is the most practical way for me to get my fresh juice! I freeze in Mason Freezer proof jars, available on Amazon and at Walmart. Here are a couple of my favorite blends, along with links to some great juice blend recipes I have found on line. The thing is to experiment with what sounds good to you. Eventually you'll find favorites, but be on the look out for new combo's so you don't get bored.
My favorite of all time.....
Kale, Apple, Lemon and Ginger In a 24 oz. jar you will add approximately 1/4 kale juice, which is very potent! Fill the rest of the jar up to about the 2/3rd's full mark with tart green apple juice. Add two or three tablespoons of lemon juice and ginger juice to taste. Top off with water about 1/3 cup. This is a rich juice, the water helps tone it down a bit. Kale is a potent detoxer, go easy when you first start drinking it. Beet, Apple, Ginger Follow the same proportions of the Kale juice above. Like kale, beets are also strong detoxifiers and can really work over the liver, go easy to start. Carrot, Celery, Parsley A classic! Fill your jar with mostly celery juice, up to a little over 1/2 the jar. Add carrot to the 3/4's mark and top off with parsley. Satisfying and balanced this is a great blend.
